SOUTH SALEM, NY — It was the perfect day to be running a race in South Salem for Memorial Day Weekend on May 28, 2012. A glaring 90 degrees watched over the runners and organizers which left everyone with tan lines and drenched shirts. There were around 300 runners of different ages who joined in either the 10km or 5km, and some entered both for the 15k challenge.

As one of the sponsors, Katonah-Lewisboro Physical Therapy (KLPT) registered four runners who joined the 5km race. KLPT also helped the runners stretch out before the race. This helped first-time runners, families, and careful runners the opportunity to warm-up and prepare before the sound-off.

Our very own Sean Thomas, Physical and Dance Therapist, won 1st place for the Men’s age group who finished 5km under 21 minutes.

Overall, the organizers of the event did a job well done. Everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend topping it off with the 10km and 5km run. Families took photos, cheered on runners, and gave everyone a South Salem welcome.
